Ninth day of competition in Mersin and eight medals for Slovenia
28. June 2013 Slovenia gains another two medals at the Mediterranean Games - the gold of Špela Ponomarenko Janić and silver of Jošt Zakrajšek.Rajmond Debevec won a bronze medal in the three positions rifle competition at the Mediterranean Games in Mersin. Unlike the volleyball players, the women’s handball team is preparing for their gold medal match tomorrow after having beaten Montenegro in today’s semifinal match 24:22 (10:11).
The Slovenian medal collection was expanded further by bocce player Aleš Borčnik’s bronze in progressive throw competition. He beat Frenchman Fabien Jarnet in the small final. Athetes are still deep in competition. Today was another day of success. Martina Ratej won gold in the javelin (60.28 m) with Eva Vivod coming sixth (49.44). Marina Tomič achieved bronze in the 100 meter hurdles (13.11). Snežana Rodić won a silver in the triple jump (14.36 ).
